The Zappos Bay to Breakers race has been run continuously for over 100 years in San Francisco, CA. It is a celebration of all things San Francisco and embraces the silliness we have in all of us. Some choose to walk, others make it a party, but most importantly it is known for all the elaborate costumes worn during the race. The challenge was to bring to life the wacky spirit the race showcases.

Edmonds, located alongside the west-facing slopes of Puget Sound, is a vibrant city preserving many characteristics of its historic origins. The small-town feel, high-quality ingredients, and fresh cuisine laid the foundation for the casual but intricate brand identity. The theme of land and sea, depicted within the cuisine, influenced the nostalgic nautical elements and color palette.

Zappos' partnership with Bay To Breakers was a unique opportunity to push brand identity into a completely new direction. The festiveness of San Francisco and the over-the-top costumes of past years helped inspire the brand attributes.

Zappos has embraced its new home in Downtown Las Vegas by investing and participating in the community. The footer illustration captures notable areas of downtown and elements representing the culture.
